凹 版　　Intaglio Printing
版の凸部にインクを付け、それを刷り取る
The pigment is applied to a raised printing surface and the image is transferred to paper with pressing instrum-ents. As in ink stamping, the raised areas are printed, while the carved areas are not..

【版種名】

・木版　wood block print
　-板目木版　wood cut:
　　木を縦に挽いた板に凸部分をつくったもの
　　Plate with convex sections produced by cutting vertically into wood

　-木口木版　wood engraving:
　　木を横に輪切りにした版に凸部分を刻んでつくったもの
　　Plate with convex sections produced by cutting into horizontally sliced wood

・リノカット　lino-cut:
　リノリウム版を彫ったもの
　Carved linoleum plate

・写真凸版　phototype:
　亜鉛版、銅版などに写真を凸版で製版したもの
　Plate made by letterpress printing a photograph on a zinc plate, copper plate,
　etc.

・紙版　paper block:
　厚紙を切り貼りしたもの
　Plate produced by cutting and pasting thick paper

・実物版（拓刷り）　object block:
　実物をそのまま版として用いたもの
　Object block used as plate

・コラグラフ　collagraph:
　別の素材をコラージュした板などをそのまま版と して用いたもの

凹版　　Intaglio Printing
版にインクを詰め込み、凹刻した部分のみを拭 き残して、エッチングプレスによる圧力で凹部 のインクを刷り取る
The printing surface is a plate in which the image is sunk below the surface. The recessed areas, consisting of incised lines and tiny notches, are filled with ink. The image is then transferred to paper using a high-pressure etching press.


【版種名】

・銅版　copper print

　-ドライポイント:　dry point
　　銅版に直接鉄筆(ニードル)で彫ったもの
　　Copper plate incised directly with a needle
　-エングレーヴィング:　engraving
　　銅板に直接ビュランで彫った物
　　Copper plate incised directly with a burin

　-メゾチント :　mezzotint
　　ロッカー(ベルソー)で銅板の表面全体に細かい傷を付け、磨いたり削ったりした物
　　Copper plate with fine scratches made with a rocker (berceau) over its entire surface, which is then burnished or shaved away

　-エッチング:　etching
　　防蝕剤を塗った銅板(亜鉛板)の表面に鉄筆(ニードル)で描き、描いた部分を
　　酸などで腐蝕した物
　　Copper plate (zinc plate) coated with an anti-corrosive agent, then etched with a needle, after which the etched-away areas are corroded with acid, etc.

　-アクアチント :　aquatint
　　松脂の粉末などの防蝕剤を散布し、酸などで腐蝕した物
　　Plate sprinkled with an anticorrosive agent such as pine resin powder and corroded with acid, etc.

　-フォトグラヴュール :　photo gravure
　　写真による凹版腐蝕製版法

平 版　　Planographic Printing
研磨したアルミ版・石版やジンク版、ベニヤ板などに油性の描 画材で描き、水で湿らせながら油性部分にのみインクがのるよ うに 製版する技法

Technique of drawing with an oil-based material on a polished aluminum plate, lithographic plate, zinc plate, plywood sheet, etc., then moistening with water and applying ink only to oily areas

・リトグラフ:　lithograph
　研磨したアルミ版・石版やジンク版、ベニヤ板などに油性の描 画材で描き、水で湿
　らせながら油性部分にのみインクがのるよ うに 製版する技法
　Technique of drawing with an oil-based material on a polished aluminum plate, lithographic plate, zinc plate, plywood sheet, etc., then moistening with water and applying ink only to oily areas

・オフセット：　offset
　アルミ板などに製版したイメージを、一度ゴム版面(ブランケット)に転写し、
　再び紙などに転写する方法

孔 版　　Stencil Printing
布目や型紙を通してインクを刷り落とす版形式をいう

An image is created using stencils and chemically masked spaces. Ink is forced through the stenciled or masked areas, and the image is transferred to paper.

【版種名】

・シルクスクリーン:silkscreen
　ナイロンまたはテトロンを張ったスクリーンに感光乳剤などでマスキングし、
目止めされていない部分にのみインクがのるように製版する技法
　A nylon or tetron screen is masked with a light-sensitive emulsion, and ink is printed through the unsealed areas

・ステンシル:stencil
　耐久性のある用紙を切り抜いた版の孔部にインクを通して刷る
　Ink is printed through holes in a plate made by cutting into durable paper

・謄写版:mimeograph
　原紙(蝋紙)の蝋を鉄筆や溶剤で取り除いた部分にインクを通して刷る
　Ink is printed through base paper (wax paper) where wax has been removed with a brush or solvent

【版種名】

・乾式コピー機を使用した物など、各種コピー

・ひとつの版を凸・凹に両用して同時に刷る場合、各版形式・版種を併用してひとつの作品に重ね刷り刷る場合がある

When a single plate is used for both convex and concave printing at the same time, in some cases a single work is overprinted using multiple types of processes and plate types


・ガラスや金属板などの表面に、直接描画して用紙に刷り取ったり、版を用いながら手彩色やコラージュなどを加えて、１点のみ制作する方法

Lines are drawn directly on the surface of a glass or metal plate which is printed on paper, or a plate is used and hand coloring or color added to produce a unique print
